Spring Training Interview: Matt Adams Discusses Off-Season Rehab, Cards-Cubs Rivalry

The Ryan Kelley Morning After is broadcasting live from Spring Training this week, and several Cardinals players will join the show throughout the collection of shows from The Post Picnic Table outside the team clubhouse in Jupiter, Fla. We will have all the interviews and special Periscope sessions on this 2016 Spring Training page.

Cardinals first baseman Matt Adams on Monday stopped by The Post Sports Bar and Grill Picnic Table to discuss several topics as the team gets set to kick off Spring Training.

We included a couple excerpts and a paraphrased tweet from the interview.

On when he arrived:

I got down here February 3. So about a week and a half so far. I’m just doing the early workouts and getting ready for camp.”

On how he feels:

“The body feels good, all healed up. I’m ready to go for a big 2016. I switched trainers in the off-season. It was something (I talked about with the team). The new guy has been around 20-something years in the business. So it was a good switch. It’s paying off right now.”

From Matt Adams on Heyward: That’s what Jason chose to say. I’m a young dude, so it didn’t bother me. But the core group didn’t like it.
